This report is the 14th edition of the study of the molybdenum market in Russia, the EAEU and the world.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the molybdenum market.
The object of the study is molybdenum concentrate, the report also provides a brief description of the manufacturers of other molybdenum products - ferromolybdenum, metallic molybdenum, molybdenum ligatures, molybdenum ingots, molybdenum rolled products, molybdenum powders, chemical compounds of molybdenum, etc.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of enterprises-producers and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.
Chronological framework of the study: 1998-2025; forecast - up to 2030.
Geography of the study: Russian Federation - comprehensive detailed analysis of the market; Armenia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan - general market analysis; the rest of the world - general information on the dynamics and characteristics of the market.
Volume of the study: the report consists of 6 parts, contains 180 pages, including 56 tables, 41 figures, 2 appendices.
The first chapter of the report provides information on the mineral resource base of molybdenum and the extraction of molybdenum-containing ores abroad in 2001-2024. The main areas of application of molybdenum concentrates, as well as world prices for molybdenum products are covered.
The second chapter of the report is devoted to the analysis of the mineral resource base of molybdenum-containing ores in Russia and the EAEU as of 01.01.2024.
The third chapter provides information on the dynamics and structure of molybdenum concentrate production in 1998-2025, a description and characteristics of the main producers of molybdenum concentrate in the EAEU and Uzbekistan. Sales markets and consumers, export activity are considered.
The fourth chapter is devoted to the analysis of foreign trade operations of Russia, Kazakhstan and Armenia with molybdenum concentrates in 1998-2025. It provides information on supply directions, exporters and importers of molybdenum concentrate.
The fifth chapter examines the consumption of molybdenum concentrate in the EAEU. This section compiles the production-consumption balance of this product for Russia (1998-2025) and describes the main consumer enterprises. This section also examines the producers of ferromolybdenum and other molybdenum products in Russia and the EAEU.
The final, sixth chapter of the report presents a forecast for the development of the Russian molybdenum raw materials market until 2030.
The appendices provide address and contact information for the main enterprises producing molybdenum concentrates, as well as consumers of molybdenum raw materials.
The target audience of the study:
- participants in the molybdenum raw materials market - producers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the molybdenum raw materials market.
