This report is the eleventh edition of the technical silicon market research in the CIS.

Market monitoring has been conducted since 2000.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the technical silicon market in Russia and the CIS countries.

The object of research is technical silicon.

A feature of this study is that the review provides a fairly detailed description of the global silicon market.

 

This work is a desk study. As sources of information, data from Rosstat, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, statistics of railway transportation of the Russian Federation were used; Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics, SSC and STS of Ukraine, data from the US Geological Survey (USGS), UNdata and Trademap databases, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, as well as websites of technical silicon manufacturers were used.

Chronological scope of the study: 1991-2021, forecast - 2022-2030.

Research geography: Russian Federation, Ukraine - comprehensive detailed market analysis; Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan - general retrospective analysis of the market; the rest of the world - general information about the dynamics and characteristics of the market.

The report consists of 8 parts, contains 161 pages, including 58 tables, 33 figures and 1 appendix.

 

The first chapter of the report gives a brief description of the global technical silicon market.

The second chapter provides data on the reserves and deposits of the main types of raw materials for the production of technical silicon in the CIS, and also describes the technology for the production of silicon and the equipment used.

The third chapter of the report is devoted to the analysis of technical silicon production in the CIS. The chapter describes the quality requirements for technical silicon. The chapter provides data on the volume of production of technical silicon in the CIS and individual countries, information on the state of the main manufacturing enterprises.

The fourth chapter analyzes the foreign trade in technical silicon of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The dynamics of exports and imports is given, trends in export-import deliveries are described, as well as information on the volumes and directions of deliveries of the largest exporters and importers of silicon.

The fifth chapter of the report provides data on the dynamics of export-import prices for technical silicon in Russia in 1996-2021, as well as prices on the domestic market of the Russian Federation.

In the sixth chapter, an assessment of the consumption of technical silicon in Russia is given. In this section, the production-consumption balance of silicon is given, and the sectoral structure of consumption is also estimated. Data on the volume of silicon supplies to the main consumers are also given.

The seventh chapter is devoted to the analysis of technical silicon consumption in Ukraine. In this section, the production-consumption balance of silicon is given, and the sectoral structure of consumption is also estimated.

In the eighth chapter, a forecast was prepared for the production and consumption of technical silicon in Russia for the period up to 2030.

The appendix contains contact information of the main manufacturers and consumers of technical silicon in the CIS.
