This report is the eighth edition of the study of the global and Russian tantalum markets.
Market monitoring has been conducted since 2001.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the tantalum market - global, Russian and CIS countries, as well as its processing chains.
The objects of the study are tantalum-containing ores and concentrates, tantalum pentoxide and some chemical compounds, metallic tantalum.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international UN databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of manufacturing companies and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), the FIPS patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
Chronological framework of the study: 2001-2024; forecast - 2025-2030.
Research geography: world, Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The report consists of 5 parts, contains 96 pages, including 23 figures and 17 tables.
The first chapter of the report presents a brief description of the world tantalum market - raw material base, production. A brief description of the main mining enterprises is given.
The second chapter describes the structure of tantalum product production in the world. Separate chapters are devoted to the structure of production in the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan.
The third chapter examines the structure of tantalum consumption in the world and Russia. The main consuming industries are described - the electronics industry (tantalum capacitors) and the production of superalloys, as well as the prospects for their use of this metal.
The fourth chapter of the report is devoted to the global dynamics of production and consumption of tantalum products in 2000-2024. The dynamics of world trade in metallic tantalum for all major importing and exporting countries in 2015-2024 are also considered.
At the end of the section, a forecast for the consumption of tantalum products in 2030 is given.
The fifth chapter is devoted to prices for tantalum-containing concentrates, tantalum pentoxide, and metallic tantalum. Factors influencing the pricing of this metal are considered. A forecast of prices for tantalite concentrates, tantalum pentoxide and metallic tantalum up to 2030 is given.
