This report is devoted to the study of the market of rare metals in Russia.

The purpose of the study is to monitor the current state of the rare metals market in Russia.

The object of research is the market of rare metals. This report discusses rare earth metals (REM), scandium, niobium, tantalum, rhenium, zirconium, germanium, lithium, and beryllium.

Work is desk study. As sources of information, we used data from Rosstat, customs statistics of the Russian Federation, the site of foreign trade operations UNdata and Eurostat, materials from annual and quarterly reports of market participants, websites of manufacturers and consumers of rare metals, data from open tenders and tenders.

Chronological scope of the study: 2018-2019

Geography of research: Russian Federation.

The report consists of 9 parts, contains 120 pages, including 103 tables.

The first chapter describes the Russian market of rare-earth metals, presents the dynamics of production, analyzes foreign trade in 2018-2019, describes the main producers, analyzes the situation in the main areas of consumption and identifies the main consumer companies, their volumes of use.

The second chapter describes the Russian market of scandium, presents the dynamics of production, analyzes foreign trade in 2018-2019, describes the main producers, analyzes the situation in the main areas of consumption and identifies the main consumer companies, their volumes of use.

The third chapter describes the Russian niobium market, presents the dynamics of production, analyzes foreign trade operations in 2018-2019, describes the main producers, analyzes the situation in the main areas of consumption and identifies the main consumer companies, their volumes of use.

The seventh chapter describes the Russian market of germanium, provides the dynamics of production, analyzes foreign trade in 2018-2019, describes the main producers, analyzes the situation in the main areas of consumption and identifies the main consumer companies, their volumes of use.

The eighth chapter describes the Russian lithium market, gives the dynamics of production, analyzes foreign trade operations in 2018-2019, describes the main manufacturers, analyzes the situation in the main areas of consumption and identifies the main consumer companies, their volumes of use.

The ninth chapter describes the Russian beryllium market, provides production dynamics, analyzes foreign trade operations in 2018-2019, describes the main producers, analyzes the situation in the main areas of consumption and identifies the main consumer companies, their volumes of use.

In conclusion, a generalized analysis of the share of producers in the all-Russian release of rare metals is given, the main commodity forms that determine the market for production and consumption are presented. A matrix of production, export-import and consumption of rare and rare-earth metals in the Russian Federation is also given, which allows to identify the most “critical” types of these products.

The target audience of the study:

- market participants of rare and scattered metals - manufacturers, consumers, suppliers;

- potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and specialists making managerial decisions working in the market of rare and trace metals.
