This report is the fifth edition of the study of the benzene market in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The purpose of the study is to analyze the benzene market in Russia, the EAEU countries (which, in addition to the Russian Federation, include the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic), as well as the world market for this product.

The object of the study is benzene (cyclohexa-1,3,5-triene) of various types: oil and coal product; in addition, the quality requirements and production volumes of reagent benzene (chemically pure and pure for analysis) are considered.

This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified information system in the field of procurement; railway transportation statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of enterprises-producers and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.

Chronological framework of the study: 2019-2024; 2025 - assessment, forecast - 2026-2032.

Geography of the study: countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, including the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia.

The report consists of 7 parts, contains 132 pages, including 37 figures, 57 tables and 2 appendices.

The first chapter is devoted to the world benzene market. The section provides data on capacities, international trade in oil and coal products and their sales prices, consumption and development prospects of the global market for the products in question.

The second chapter provides information on the benzene production technologies used in industry, the production capacities of this product in the EAEU countries and the main types of raw materials for its production (crude oil, pyrolysis products, coking coal).

The third chapter is devoted to the analysis of benzene production in the EAEU. It presents the quality requirements for the manufactured products, tracks the dynamics of their production and provides data on production volumes in 2019-2024, describes the leading manufacturers of the product in the Eurasian Economic Union and their current status.

The fourth chapter analyzes foreign trade operations with benzene in Russia and the EAEU countries in the period 2019-2024. Data on the volumes of exports and imports of individual types of the studied products are provided, the geographic structure of supplies is presented, information on individual exporters and importers of benzene is analyzed.

The fifth chapter provides information on the level of benzene prices on the domestic market of the Russian Federation, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for the product in 2019-2024.

The sixth chapter is devoted to the consumption of benzene in Russia and other EAEU countries. This section provides a balance of production and consumption of the studied products, presents the structure of their use in the Russian Federation, considers the main areas of benzene use, and describes the largest enterprises-consumers of this product.

The seventh, final chapter is devoted to the forecast of benzene production and consumption in Russia for the period up to 2032.

The appendices provide contact information on benzene producers in the EAEU countries, as well as the largest Russian consumers of this product, processing third-party products.

Target audience of the study:

– participants in the benzene market and raw materials for the production of this type of product;

– potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing departments and management decision-makers working in the chemical products market.
