This review is the eighth edition of the study of the hydrochloric acid market in Russia and the EAEU (CIS) countries.
Market monitoring has been conducted since 2000.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian hydrochloric acid market in order to understand and forecast the market situation.
The object of the study is hydrochloric acid (synthetic, exhaust gas, inhibited and reactive).
The presented work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international UN databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); railway transportation statistics; SBIS database; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of manufacturing and consumer companies of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.
A distinctive feature of this study is the division of hydrochloric acid by production method (synthetic and exhaust gas) and a detailed study of each type of this chemical, in addition, the in-plant consumption of hydrochloric acid was studied in detail.
Separately presented are data on the production volumes of inhibited hydrochloric acid by manufacturing companies in 2020-2024.
Chronological framework of the study: 1997-2024; forecast - 2025-2030/35.
Geography of the study: Russian Federation - comprehensive detailed market analysis, other EAEU countries - brief retrospective analysis.
The review consists of 6 chapters, contains 108 pages, including 55 tables, 30 figures and an appendix.
The first chapter of the report provides information on the raw materials required for the production of hydrochloric acid, its characteristics. This chapter also examines in detail the technology of hydrochloric acid production. In addition, data on the main suppliers of raw materials, directions and volumes of supplies are provided.
The second chapter of the review is devoted to the production of hydrochloric acid (divided into synthetic and exhaust gas) in the EAEU countries. This section of the report provides statistical and estimated data on the volumes of hydrochloric acid production in the CIS in 1997-2024. In addition, quality indicators of the products obtained are provided. The characteristics of the largest acid producers are also given here.
The third chapter of the review provides data on foreign trade operations with hydrochloric acid in Russia and the EAEU countries (supply volumes, main suppliers and consumers of hydrochloric acid) in 1997-2024.
The fourth chapter provides information on the price level on the domestic Russian market in 2008-2025, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for products in Russia in 1997-2024.
The fifth chapter of the review examines the consumption of hydrochloric acid in Russia in 1997-2024. This section provides the production-consumption balance of this product, the industry structure of consumption, the main consumers, and describes the current state and development prospects of the largest consumption industries.
The sixth chapter of the review provides a forecast for the development of the Russian hydrochloric acid market for the period up to 2030/35.
The appendix provides addresses and contact information for enterprises producing hydrochloric acid in the EAEU countries.
The target audience of the study:
- hydrochloric acid market participants - manufacturers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing services and specialists working in the hydrochloric acid market.
